The Peace Corps Nigeria Alumni Foundation (PCNAF) was founded in 2000 in the USA, Washington, DC area. PCNAF was formed by a small group of prior Peace Corps Volunteers with the mission to help reduce poverty in Nigeria, as well as to increase the economic growth of the country by way of programs that ensure access to quality education.
More than 10 million Nigerian youth (of primary school age) are denied access to basic education, of which most of them are girls. PCNAF believes that educating and empowering female is the key to Nigeria’s economic development.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
PCNAF will be awarding 2 scholarships worth $2000 each (approximately 620,000 Nigerian Naira) to deserving female college students with Nigerian heritage. Students will completed their studies in Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Female college student
Of Nigerian heritage
Proven financial need
In possession of an international student visa (F1)
Enrolled in full time studies at a participating tertiary institution (listed below)
Starting junior or senior year at the university in 2018 OR completing community college and entering university full time in 2018
Achieved a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Strong desire to contribute to prosperity and development of Nigeria
